Distinctions

By any measure, including the school’s outstanding standardized test scores, graduation and college acceptance rates, Renaissance is a school that works.

Nearly 60% of Renaissance students fall under federal family poverty guidelines, facing harsh realities that all too often hamper a desire to excel academically, yet the New York Post in a July 20, 2006 article referred to its students as “academic stars” when compared to their peers in nearby schools. Students are admitted on a lottery basis, and the overwhelming majority would attend red-flagged schools if they were not enrolled in Renaissance.
