Internship Experience for SBL Program
Direct site-based experiences that give practical experiences in the management of small schools.

EDA 546.  Internship in Administration and Supervision, Part I.
Spring, direct work within the site of a school (large or small) to give practical experience in issues that are common
to all settings. An individually arranged experience in selected small/charter schools under the supervision
experienced administrator and/or supervisor; experiences will include but not be limited to: planning, implementing
and evaluating in the areas of curriculum, supervision of instruction, staff development, personnel, community
relations, management, legal issues, finances, personal/professional development.  Interns regularly participate in a
seminar which provides in-depth discussion and integration of supervisory issues and concerns for students actively
involved in an internship experience.  In addition to formal input from the instructor, students are allowed the
opportunity for the regular exchange of ideas and experiences. (300 hours, 3 credits)


EDA 547.  Internship in Administration and Supervision, Part II.
Summer. Observation of and direct work within a recognized small or charter school.  Internship may include
supervised work leading to the development of a New Century Schools or Charter School proposal.  (300 hours, 3
credits).
